Harris
Machus specifically created the Machus Famous Dressing for the Signature Salad at the Red Fox Restaurant when it opened in 1966. The salad was such a
success, he served similar salads at all the Machus restaurants. The contents of the salad varied at every restuarant, but they ALL had the Machus Famous Dressing
The 270-seat Red Fox featured a menu
supervised by a certified master chef, one of only 17 in the country. The Red Fox gained notoriety in 1974, when
labor leader Jimmy Hoffa disappeared without a trace from its parking
lot, never to be seen again. The Red Fox closed in 1996, but now the dressing is available for all to enjoy.
In addition to using the dressing on the Signature Salad, many of our customers rave about using it as a marinade for chicken, Ahi tuna steaks, flank steak, or pork tenderloin. Just marinate for 2-3 before cooking. After cooking, these make a great addition to the Signature Salad.
The Machus Famous Dressing is now available locally at ZIEBEN-MARE, 32800 Franklin Rd. #101, Franklin, Michigan - (248)539-8879.
